Meet Matt, Founder of MASE Leadership
Leadership coach for assistant principals and emerging school leaders
I’ve spent more than 18 years in educational leadership across Australia and the UK, moving from classroom teacher to Assistant Headteacher, Head of Mathematics, Deputy Head of Teaching and Learning (Years 10–12) and now Deputy Director of Academic Learning.
Along the way I’ve led curriculum reform, introduced new pathways like the VCE Vocational Major, implemented the IB MYP, and coached teams of academic leaders. I’m most at home where strategy meets the day‑to‑day reality of schools: using data well, supporting staff through change, and keeping students at the centre.
I started MASE Leadership because I saw how often emerging leaders and assistant principals are asked to “just step up” without targeted support. Right now, it’s just me – you work directly with someone who has led in complex school settings. As demand grows, the business is growing too, but the coaching will stay personal, honest and grounded in real school experience.
